The pilgrims of Matt’s January 2023 Journey With Rabbi Jesus Holy Land trip have made it back to the states. Above you see the 29 Pilgrims from the Orange Bus that comprised Matt’s group. The group included MVP leaders Lance Wiesmann, Marie Louden-Hanes, Ann Wasson, Ed Bettendorf, Ken Krieger, Pam Reid, and Matt Meinke along with many other church leaders in MVP and the Presbytery of Cincinnati.
We stayed in Bethlehem, ate with Palestinian Christian families making deep connections with their stories and struggles, celebrated reaffirmation of baptismal covenants at the Jordan River, swam in the Dead Sea, visited the Galilee region walking the steps of Jesus, made new friends, visited the Herodium, Caesarea, and met Fr Loustinos at St Photini Church in Nablus where Jacob’s Well is, and ended our Journey in Jerusalem on the Mt of Olives, in the Upper Room, at David’s Tomb, at the Western Wall, and walking the Via Dolorosa and celebrating communion at the Garden Tomb. Some went on to Jordan/Petra extension as well.
