Discipleship Commission

The Discipleship Commission (as it oversees those duties traditionally performed by a Committee on Preparation for Ministry/CPM) assembles a Preparation for Ministry Team (PMT) for each inquirer/candidate and oversees a single Commissioned Ruling Elder Team (CRET) for all CRE students.

Five Lessons from the Foundations of Presbyterian Discipleship videos:

  1. A People of Grace (11:00) – For Presbyterians the first thing we need to know is that God is a God of Grace. This truth affects every aspect of our life.
  2. Wicked Bad (11:00) – Why do we talk about sin and evil? Are we saying that we’re wicked bad? Are we the worst of the worst?
  3. Who Do They Say I Am? (11:00) – We are asked to name Jesus as our “Lord and Savior.” What does that really mean?
  4. Update Your Faith System (12:00) – Study and Worship are vital aspects of “being Presbyterian.”
  5. Blessed To Be A Blessing (13:00) – God has not called us to be concerned about ourselves. Our focus on Fellowship and Mission reminds us of that.
