Part-Time Transitional Pastor

Job Description

Prepare and lead worship, including administration of sacraments, with support of Church Leadership.

Arrange, with Session and Church leaderships support, for Pastoral care and visitation for shut-ins at home, in the hospital or in long term care facilities.

Lead the congregation in prayer and spiritual support for others.

Serve as Moderator of Session and congregational meetings.

Officiate at funeral services, weddings and baptisms.

Review with Session the financials of the church to evaluate financial capacity for salary/housing for new pastor.

Lead and guide the Transition team, Pastoral Nominating Committee and Session in the search for a new Pastor.

Lead our congregation in the development of a possible shared ministry with other local congregations.

Maintain community relationships as appropriate.

Provide Session with a monthly pastoral activities report.

Any other responsibilities that may arise can be negotiated with Session.

Position will begin with a minimum of a 1-year contract with opportunities for renewal and at 3 months the transition team will convene with the Pastor to reassess pastor obligations.

Qualifications:

Ordained minister, commissioned ruling elder, or equivalent education

At minimum half-time, this position holds the potential to transition into a permanent role

Part-Time Pastor

The members and friends of the historic Collingwood Presbyterian Church are excited to share an open position to lead our progressive-minded congregation. We are a large church building with a small but very loyal congregation in Toledo, Ohio. As we begin the work to transform our building into a community center and banquet facility, we are looking for a temporary, part-time pastor to lead us in meaningful worship, provide pastoral care, and moderate Session. This position could be one or two people, ten to twenty hours per week, for a period of up to two years. Terms are negotiable.

Part-Time Pastor

The pastor will empower the congregation by instilling enthusiasm through transformative leadership.
